Compared with Camtasia
Camtasia for Mac, or a recorder that edits as you go?
Camtasia is a complete screen recorder and video editor for Windows and Mac. ScreenRecordii does less editing by hand, because it does more of it while you record.
In short
Camtasia records screen, camera, microphone and system audio, and has a full timeline editor with transitions, effects, an asset library, AI auto zoom and pan, cursor smoothing, captions and team features, on Windows and Mac. ScreenRecordii is a Mac app with a lighter timeline: zooms, cursor and framing are applied while you record, so most videos are finished when you stop. Pick Camtasia for long-form training and heavy editing; pick ScreenRecordii for quick, polished demos and tutorials.

What Camtasia is
TechSmith describes Camtasia as “AI-powered screen recording and video editing,” with “nearly identical features” on Windows and macOS. It records up to 4K at 60 fps with camera, microphone and system audio, captures mouse, clicks and keystrokes as editable data, and includes AI auto zoom and pan (SmartFocus), cursor smoothing and effects, captions, 150+ transitions, an asset library, AI voices and avatars. Its system requirements list macOS 14 as the Mac minimum, though one support article says macOS 15. Screencast offers hosting and review.
